“The white beaches of Siberia” is the new tourist campaign of one of the coldest area in the world, Siberia. I loved the idea behind this marketing push of this region. Most of our life we dream about sunny islands, beautiful beaches and a warm sea. I’m Siberian and photographer George Shishkin thought that they could recreate the same concept at Red Lake in Kemerovo. The photos are lovely, I just feel for the models, in a place where the temperature can go as down as -50 degrees. As George remarked “It was quite frosty, but really fun and exciting. All constantly joking”.

The campaign manager, Julia Sheremeteva commented “We want to prove that winter tourism can be really interesting and sometime brighter than the summer one. There are unique places as the Mountain Shoria, Altai, Sayan, Khakassia, Yakutia. These are all places that will transform your relationship with nature and life”

All photos made by George Shishkin.
