This is such an iconic building and I could not miss it in my last visit to Beijing, China. How many times was broadcast during the 2008 Olympic Games. I was really looking forward to my Beijing trip (an article will follow on it) and all the expectations were met, no question about it.

I can see a link between the architecture of the Theatres on the Bay in Singapore and this building. Similar and different at the same time, for sure both of them amazing

It is true, this city is really crowded. As soon as you approach the Beijing airport you realize that you fly for over 5 minutes an area that in Australia would be called CBD (Central Business District) and it would last seconds. The high buildings cover most of the city boundary to host over 20 million citizens, that is the size of the Australian population just in one city. Even more amazing is the fact that the population almost doubled since 2000.

I was a bit concerned about the pollution level before my trip, both for my lungs and my photography light. I was lucky, a big storm cleaned the city just the day before. I left behind me another big storm when I left but I got stuck in Shangai for 24 hours due to bad weather condition, and that’s another story 😀
