I was for a long weekend in Newcastle and I was really impressed by this town, better say city! The architecture in the central area is just outstanding. The buildings were mostly erected during the coal mining boom and they did not save money with the design, mostly art deco inspired. Newcastle deserves to have a great future, although coal is not any more the answer. The political class has lots of work to convert this city to a new business hub.

The Merewether baths are just a fantastic place to have a swim and the locals are really proud of them.
