The visit to this Khmer temple, Prasat Hin Muang Tum, was one of the most unusual experience of my life. First of all it was hard to find (no real maps) but the “exciting” bit was the place itself. Located right on the line between Cambodia and Thailand, claimed by both countries, with both armies there with guns and more. We were escorted by the Thai Army, with clear signals to do quickly. We found out later that only two years ago the two countries had a cruel fight for this monument. As usual no winners, now just common sense.
